October 5, 2011 ---

October 6-15, 2011 --- Griffin Kiwanis County Fair.

October 10-16, 2011 --- Columbus Day school break.

October 15, 2011 --- “Hymn Festival” --- The day will begin at the Second Baptist Church with a workshop for the singers (fee required), then a free concert.

October 20, 2011 --- “Heavenly Light” --- Composers through the ages have written beautiful music to depict their imagined visions of heaven. Our first concert of the season features John Rutter's Requiem and other selections focusing on the theme of light and our longing for a heavenly home. October 21 & 22 AND October 28 & 29, 2011 --- “The Haunted Theatre on Hill Street III” --- New location, scarier underground venue. The Haunted Theatre on Hill Street is located in historic downtown Griffin in the underground vaults of Studio D, between Taylor Street and Slayton Alley. October 22, 2011 --- “Doctoberfest” --- in the Imperial Biergarten, 132 East Solomon Street, beginning in the afternoon.

October 25, 2011 --- “Aion Clarke” --- (Aion is a singer/songwriter whose blend of pop and soul favourites is establishing him as a force on the International music scene. October 28, 2011 --- “Downtown Griffin Trick-or-Treat” --- Celebrate the haunting day with this festive walk through downtown historic Griffin from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. Presented by the City of Griffin, The Main Street Program and the Griffin Downtown Council. December 1, 2011 --- Downtown Tree Lighting and Welcome Center Open House.

December 1, 2011 --- “Christmas with GCA” --- Begin your holiday observance with this annual concert event featuring traditional holiday selections and new compositions celebrating the birth of the Christ Child. Enjoy a night of great choral music accompanied by organ, harp, brass, percussion, and handbells. December 3, 2011 --- “Mistletoe Market” --- from Noon until 4PM in downtown Griffin.

February 20-27, 2012 --- Presidents’ Day school break for GSCS.

March 1, 2012 --- “Masterworks: Gloria!” --- Our major choral-orchestral offering of the season features the well-known Gloria in D by Vivaldi and the lesser-known but highly regarded Messa di Gloria by Puccini. March 8, 2012 --- “Carpe Diem String Quartet” --- (“A classical string quartet that rocks?” Yes! Carpe Diem String Quartet is quickly becoming the premier American indie string quartet. The group’s musical passion has led them down the paths of gypsy, tango, folk, pop, rock, and jazz inspired music, but the quartet is equally at home with the traditional string quartet repertoire.) April 17, 2012 --- “Billy Dean” --- (An American country music singer and songwriter, who first gained national attention after appearing on the television talent competition Star Search. Active as a recording artist since 1990, he has recorded a total of eight studio albums (of which the first three have been certified gold by the RIAA and a greatest hits package which is also certified gold. His studio albums have accounted for more than twenty hit singles on the Billboard country charts, including eleven Top Ten hits.) April 23 -29, 2012 --- Spring break for GSCS.

May 3, 2012 --- “Earth Songs” --- Season five of GCA ends with a celebration of our earthly home. Songs of creation and new life, cautionary songs calling us to better stewardship, and delight in cultural and artistic diversity combine with the premier of a commissioned work from New Zealand composer David N.
